Acne Treatment for Oily Skin
Out of all the skin types, oily skin is perhaps the most prone to acne and acne breakouts. This is mostly because oily skin produces excessive sebum, a characteristic trait of this skin type. However, there are several products that can help you treat acne and oily skin.
Before going out the buy creams or gels, you must first establish the proper cleansing routine for your skin type. Just like with all skin types, oily skin requires cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing. The difference is in the ingredients you should look for.
The best product for cleansing your skin is a foaming product that contains salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid that can help promote the sloughing off of dead skin cells and control excess sebum production. If these situations are not dealt with, they may lead to acne breakouts.
If your cleanser is not removing all of your makeup, you can use a makeup remover before cleansing. You can also try using a toner after cleansing to make sure your skin is free of makeup, debris and extra sebum.
You should exfoliate at least once a week. If your skin gets dull, then you should increase the amount of times that you exfoliate. However, don't overdo the exfoliation process because it can lead to more sebum production.
Moisturizing is crucial for all skin types. When treating oily skin you should use a water based moisturizer. Water-based moisturizers absorb quickly into the skin and do not leave heavy residue behind.
The last step is the application of a natural acne cream. You can either use it all over you face or just in target areas. This product should contain benzoyl peroxide or retinoids to help control the development of acne.
Benzoyl peroxide is used as a treatment for acne because it helps kill the bacteria (P. acnes) that cause acne infection. Retinoids work much like salicylic acid does.
Your cleansing routine should be repeated twice a day: once in the morning and once before going to bed. By maintaining a consistent cleansing routine you should notice less acne breakouts. However, if you are trying to treat severe acne, then it is best that you consult a doctor for the appropriate acne treatment.
Treating acne adequately is extremely important. If your acne condition is left untreated it can lead to scarring. Then, you will have to deal with acne scar removal as well as other skin problems.
Sometimes the use of common cosmetics -foundation and makeup- can also be a factor in acne breakouts. When shopping for make-up, especially foundation, make sure that it is non-comedogenic or water based. Some traditional oil-based foundations promote the formation of clogged pores and trigger acne problems.
Cystic acne is a severe form of acne than can be treated with a natural acne product - BIOSKINFORTE. This product is so gentle it can be compared to natural acne home remedies, however, it is much more effective. If you prefer natural products and are looking for a facial or back acne treatment, try BIOSKINFORTE.
