Removal of Ice-Pick Scar
If you ever complained about that ugly scar you got when learning how to ride your bike, then you'll be surprised to learn that it's actually the body's natural protective process.
A scar is formed when collagen arranges itself on a wound creating a thick band of protection. In short, a scar is your body's very own "band-aid", although not very attractive.
All bodies are different, therefore, the healing process will vary. This means that you may have a cut that heals leaving behind a thick scar while a friend may have had the same cut, yet no scarring. However, once a scar has formed it may feel indented or raised to the touch. In the case that you develop a more mild case of acne - known as non-inflammatory acne or comedogenic acne - consider yourself one of the lucky few that can walk away from an acne breakout scar-free. One the other hand, if you do notice pus-filled pimples surrounded by cysts then you are surely headed towards a scar.
Ice pick scars appear deep and are very narrow. They develop after an infection from a deep inflamed blemish or cyst has worked its way towards the surface of the skin. This type of scar resembles a small hole in your skin or a very large pore. It is the worst type of scar because of the emotional pain it causes the sufferer.
Unluckily enough, this type of scar has limited treatment:
Punch excision and grafting: Complete surgical removal is the only real solution when seeking removal of deep ice pick scars. Larger scars can be removed and then filled with a skin graft. This means that a piece of skin is removed from another area of the body and placed over the operated area. Once that is done the area is contoured with dermabrasion to blend it into the rest of the skin.
Laser resurfacing: Laser treatments function by literally lasering-off superficial layers of the skin, wherein, creating a smoother and softer surface. This technique is one of the most useful types of treatment for acne scarring, but also one of the most expensive.
If you aren't interested in these more aggressive procedures then there is one more that may fit the bill - natural acne scar removal treatments.
You may not be fully convinced that a topical treatment can be as effective as other known procedures such as dermabrasion. And you may not even be able to grasp the idea of a natural product that can get rid of scars or that matter even treat an ice-pick scar, but Nature has never let you down before. But before purchasing just any natural product, make sure it contains a special natural ingredient called Helix Aspersa Muller Glycoconjugates which is a compound known to treat pitted acne scars, rolling scars and acne scarring. Always keep in mind; treating a scar effectively is all about finding the right product, not the most expensive.
